Rick Ford ran in 2006 and changed the voting dynamic for democrats in State House District 83 considered a Republican stronghold. He was considered the best candidate by 27,686 and came within 627 votes of winning out of 56,999 votes cast.
Although supported and endorsed in 2006, no one in the party establishment believed Rick had a chance.
Rick shocked the politicos with his strong grassroots effort. He is again running to unseat his Republican opponent.
However, the party establishment in the southern part of the county has put up a primary opponent who hopes to have a chance
now that Rick has opened the way for Democrats. Please review the resumes before you come out and vote August 26th, 2008 for Rick Ford.
